Welcome to Pleasant Dunes! A spacious Fire Island house in the beautiful Seaview Community with traditional charm and all the comforts of home. We are local Long Island owners who bought this beach home for our family to enjoy and share. We will do everything to make your stay wonderful!
Fire Island is a unique vacation spot accessible only by ferry or boat. Bicycles are the predominant mode of transportation. Peak summer season is June-July-August but stays during the spring and fall offer a special peaceful retreat.
The 1st floor includes a bright open living room with large, comfy sectional (perfect gathering place to play board games or watch TV), a large kitchen and dining table with all the necessities, and a master bedroom with full bathroom (ideal for guests with mobility issues). Hardwood floors throughout.
2nd floor has 4 bedrooms: 1 queen (with a half bath) 1 double, 1 single, bunk room with 1 single plus bunk beds (1 full, 1 single), and a beautifully newly remodeled bathroom with a tub. There is a cottage on the property that sleeps 2 (2 single beds) with a 1/2 bathroom!
The backyard has large deck surrounded by gardens and privacy. There is a Weber propane grill, a large table that seats 10, shade, and of course, an outdoor shower. There are bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and wagon for your use.
You will enjoy the central AC during hot summer months, Dish Network and WiFi services. Beach towels and linens are provided and the new washer and dryer are conveniently located in the kitchen.
The home is short walk (about 200 feet) to the ocean with community provided lifeguards.
The Seaview Market is well-stocked and conveniently located next to the ferry dock, just down the block.
Seaview also has a private Marina if you would like to bring your personal boat, with transient slips available. Reservations are recommended. A 10 minute walk to the West brings you to the town of Ocean Beach with many restaurants and shops. A 15 minute walk to the East brings you to the town of Ocean Bay Park. The Seaview community values a respectful family oriented atmosphere.
Quit hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Parties and group rentals are not allowed at any time.

Summary: This was an excellent stay at a great property. It's an older home that has been nicely renovated, sitting in an extraordinary location that was both close to the beach and a short walk to the Seaview Market, probably the best market in any Fire Island community. Also close enough to the many restaurants and shopping in Ocean Beach that we never felt like it was a burden to go there, which isn't always the case if you stay farther away in Ocean Bay Park. The bedrooms were relatively small but numerous and well appointed, and the deck space out back was spacious and a great common area, along with the living room. We found the house immaculately clean when we arrived, and our host JoAnn was great about checking in and responding to any questions. It's an easy recommendation.
